We belong to Allaah and to Him we shall return.
It is hard, with great sadness overcoming me, that I have to announce the death of our teacher, the khateeb (sermon-giver) of Ahlu Sunnah, Sheikh Abu Islam Saalih Taha.
He had been sick for the past few weeks and passed away today.
The great sheikh, the reviver of Islam in this era, sheikh Albaani -who is the sheikh of sheikh Abu Islam- used to attend his Friday khutbas and would say about him: ‘We have our khateeb (one who gives the Friday khutbas/sermon).’ Very few people in the world were as effective and eloquent in their khutbas as Sheikh Abu Islam Saalih Taha.
Sheikh Abu Islam was also very close to my sheikh, Dr. Abduladheem Badawi (famous for the book “alwajeez/concise presentation of fiqh). Since the sickness, Sheikh Abduladheem actually left Egypt to go to sheikh Abu Islam in Jordan, and has been by the side of his brother and student, till death has come.
Please ask Allaah to have mercy on him, and to strengthen and take care of the family he left behind.
This is the sheikh’s website, www.abuislam.net there’s a lot to benefit – trust me.
Please share it also, that will be sadaqatul-jaariya (continous charity) for the sheikh.
These are some beneficial lectures he did when visiting Toronto.

Steadfastness on religion during the time of fitnah
– His people (the Muslims) complained of oppression from pharaoh (they suffered more than most of us today), Musaﷺ replied: “Seek help in Allah and be patient. Verily, the earth is Allah’s. He gives it as a heritage to whom He will of His slaves, and the (blessed) end is for the pious.”
– When they thought pharaoh will catch them and with the sea in front of them they panicked, but Musaﷺ said: “Indeed I have my Lord, He shall guide me.”
Great Lesson: Submit to Allaah by tawheed and be dutiful to Him; He shall take care of you, ease your difficulties, and be there for you when you need Him.
“Say (O Muhammadﷺ to mankind): “If you really love Allaah then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic Tawheed, follow the Quran and the Sunnah), Allaah will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Surah Aal-Imraan: 31)
The Prophet ﷺ never mentioned “Islamic New Year”, never celebrated it, never sent out “wishes”, never made any special dua or prayer or fasting for “new year”. Please beware.
If you love Allaah, follow the way (Sunnah) of His prophet ﷺ.
If it was not the fact that Eid and celebrating Eid are among the major sign-posts (and worship) in Islam; we wouldn’t celebrate due to the millions of Muslims in suffering. But the matter is always in the hands of Allaah -before and after.
The month of Dhul Hijja -best ten days of the year- are here. Therein will be the greatest day of the year -Eidul Adh-ha; the day of sacrificing and thanking Allaah.
As with previous years we are providing this humble service of udhhiya for those interested.

A man came to Hasan al-Basri and asked him:
” I have a daughter whom I love a lot, and many have came for her and proposed to her, whom do you advise me to get her married to?”
He said: “Marry her to the person who fears Allaah. For if he loves her; he’ll make her special and treat her in a noble way, and if he doesn’t like her; he won’t oppress her!”
The Prophet (sallahallahu alayhi wasallam) said:
“When a man comes to propose and you are pleased with his religious uprightness and his manners; get him married. If you don’t; there shall be a lot of fitna (trials & tribulations) and a lot of corruption (evil).” [saheeh Sunan Tirmidhi]
